HAIL OF BULLETS Pulls Out Of DARKNESS OVER X-MAS TOUR

October 13, 2008

HAIL OF BULLETS — the new band featuring GOREFEST drummer Ed Warby, THANATOS guitarists Stephan Gebédi and Paul Baayens, former PESTILENCE/ASPHYX singer Martin Van Drunen and former HOUWITSER bass player Theo van Eekelen — has been forced to withdraw from the the Darkness Over X-Mas Tour 2008 (featuring LEGION OF THE DAMNED, SONIC SYNDICATE, NEAERA, CALLEJON and ANIMA) due to "unforeseen circumstances" in Martin Van Drunen's private life. "We regret having to make this decision, as we were really looking forward to waging some serious war on stage!" says Martin. "Of course, we'll do our very best to return to the front as soon as possible..."

Fan-filmed video footage of HAIL OF BULLETS's September 6, 2008 performance at the Baroeg Open Air festival in Rotterdam, Holland, can be viewed below (clip uploaded by YouTube user "stoneagelightning").

"…Of Frost And War", the debut album from HAIL OF BULLETS, was released in Europe on May 19 (except in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, where it arrived three days earlier, and Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, where it will be released on March 13) via Metal Blade Records. The album was recorded in February/March of 2008 at Excess Studios in Rotterdam, Holland and was mixed and mastered in Sweden by Dan Swanö of EDGE OF SANITY fame.

HAIL OF BULLETS was formed in late 2006 through a mutual love for old-school death metal bands like AUTOPSY, BOLT THROWER, MASSACRE, CELTIC FROST and DEATH. In the summer of 2007, the band entered a Rotterdam studio to record a four-song promotional CD, which was mixed by the infamous death metal guru Dan Swanö in Sweden.
